Information for Visitors

Registration

There are no registration fees for the meeting, but researchers from other institutions must pre-register to participate. Intending participants from other institutions who are US citizens should send their names and affiliations to Carol Ann Austin (caustin@pppl.gov) to register. 

Non-US citizens will need to submit a PPPL Foreign Visitor Form in advance of the meeting and should email Carol Ann Austin (caustin@pppl.gov) as soon as possible.

Entrance Procedures for PPPL

As a federal facility, the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory is operating under heightened security measures because of the events of September 11, 2001.

Upon arrival at PPPL, adult visitors must show a government-issued photo I.D. -- for example, a passport or a driver's license. Non-U.S. citizens must show a government-issued photo I.D., plus provide the following information: citizenship, date of birth, and place of birth. REMINDER:  Non-US citizens will need to submit a PPPL Foreign Visitor Form in advance of the meeting and should email Carol Ann Austin  (caustin@pppl.gov) as soon as possible.

For the welfare of both our staff and visitors, PPPL security staff retain the right to inspect vehicles and personal packages, such as briefcases, satchels, book bags, and purses.

Instructions for Driving to PPPL

GPS location: 100 Stellarator Road, Princeton, NJ, 08540

The Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) is located about two miles north of Princeton University's main campus on U.S. Route #1 at the Forrestal Exit in Plainsboro. Below are general driving instructions and area-specific maps.

Exiting Route #1 at Forrestal Campus/Sayre Drive:

Traveling south: Take the Forrestal Campus/Sayre Drive Exit. At the stop sign at the end of the exit ramp make a left-hand turn (be very careful). Go under the overpass, and make a left-hand turn on to Stellarator Road and follow it for about a mile until you come to the manned entrance booth. The security person will direct you from there.

Traveling north: Take the Forrestal Campus/Sayre Drive Exit. At the stop sign go straight. Be sure to watch for traffic on your left.  Follow Stellarator Road for about a mile until you come to the manned entrance booth. The security person will direct you from there.
